I am a bit of a hermit, who’s most happy running about the moors or rootling about looking for pebbles on the beach. The natural world is where I find my still point, where I feel most connected. Here I experience an expansion in my capacity to listen and a deep feeling of reverence for all life. I find everything has a voice, it’s simply a matter of staying quiet and willing enough to hear it.

So I walk, I gather, I sit, I wait, I listen, I receive, I create…

The act of making is my favourite meditation. I apprenticed with stone carver Meic Watts and gained a creative foundation in working with stone. It was the beginning of a journey that taught me to love the land I walked and lived upon as my first source of inspiration, and to work with the materials that nature provides.

Whether I am carving stone, molding clay or drawing; I drop into a deep quiet focus. I am learning to work from a place that exists before thought. I often don’t know what I am going to make before I begin. As I hold a material in my hands, my mind has learnt to step aside.

I move into a flow that feels like a calling. A meditation of the hands, led by my heart. I simply mold the clay or make a mark and follow where my fingers are led. Until form begins to appear and I follow its lead.

A process of getting out of my own way to allow what is wanting to come through to reveal itself.

This is the way I create and the way I receive messages for my oversoul readings - my work is rooted in the quiet act of listening.
